Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy

Initial evaluation and treatment sessions with a licensed PT.  This can be for a problem that you have spoken with your doctor about but it doesn’t necessarily have to be. With or without a prescription/referral from a MD you will be evaluated and given a comprehensive treatment plan for usually 4-12 weeks, depending on the situation.  This is usually done at a frequency of 1-3 times per week.  Treatment can include manual therapy, myofascial release, cupping, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic activities and modalities.  The treatment will always be explained to you and will progress to more advanced options with the ultimate goal of getting you to be fully autonomous with the management of your symptoms.

Proteus testing & training

Our Proteus machine allows for state-of-the-art technology to measure and improve strength and power for any movement in any direction.  This is the first device that can accurately train and measure force production with 100% of your movements.  This can be used to show progress or as a stand-alone training tool. Athletes and clients who want to improve rotational strength will not find a better device to improve this.  We offer individual and group testing sessions as well as a monthly subscription to train on the Proteus.

Sports Performance Training

Training tailored to an athlete’s sports specific needs.  All ages are welcome and training will include in-person sessions and homework in between those in-person sessions.  Frequency of sessions will depend on the athlete’s specific needs.  Can address weak points and can be done in-season or off-season.  Training can include but isn’t limited to powerlifting, Olympic lifting, sprinting/running, plyometrics, jumping, throwing, HIIT workouts, CrossFit style workouts, General Physical Preparation and Strongman training.

Blood flow restriction training

Blood-flow restriction training can help patients to make greater strength training gains while lifting lighter loads, thereby reducing the overall stress placed on the limb.  External pressure, often in the form of a band or cuff, is placed on the extremity, to reduce blood flow.  This allows clients to exercise at a lower intensity while still having the benefits of higher intensity activity.  In the physical therapy environment, it allows us to address muscle atrophy or injury without overloading or damaging the healing tissue.

Oxygen Advantage Training

This is training based on the system founded by Patrick McKeown.  It is based on his book and training system developed from the Buteyko method of breathing and has been used on thousands of people all over the world.  It can help with improving breathing dynamics at rest, during exercise or while sleeping.  It can also help you understand what optimal breathing should feel like.  It will help to maximize your function, improve recovery, allow you to focus better during work and help prepare you for any stressful situations.  This can help with workouts, recovery from workouts, stress at work or even panic attacks.
